Plug These Fun Bootcamp Workout Ideas Into Your Next Session
To celebrate the launch of Bootcamp Sumo, I'm giving away loads of free bootcamp workout ideas, so you can have more fun training your clients this week. First up is Legs Fantastic, a fun bootcamp drill using broad jumps..
Method: Players are going to broad jump 20 metres and back x 2 then complete 1 burpee for every jump it took them to complete the challenge. I completed the challenge in 49 jumps, so I completed 49 burpees.
What I love about this type of drill is, it forces you to put in the effort, because if you don’t, you’ll end up with fewer jumps and more burpees. For a tougher challenge, have players complete 1 burpee before each broad jump.
If you're up for a mover advanced challenge, broad jump between 2x 20 metre markers for 1 mile. Thats 80x 20 metres.

Why Broad Jumps Are A Great Bootcamp Exercise
The broad jump is a bodyweight, cardiovascular, and plyometric exercise that targets the quads, and to a lesser degree the hip flexors, hamstrings and calves.

Sprint Based Bootcamp Workout Ideas For Group Training
The benefits of shuttle sprints are huge.
The benefits of shuttle sprints are huge.
Sprint Kings is a fun 6-minute workout that forces you to put in the effort. The way it works is very simple.
Complete shuttle sprints for 6-minutes counting down the shuttles from 50. The number you are left with when the time is up is converted to burpees. I.e., Let say you completed 40 shuffles in the allowed time, there are 10 remaining, so you would complete 10 burpees.
If you training a mixed ability group, start players on a different number of shuttle sprints depending on their ability. I.e,.
For clients that are at an advanced level of fitness, see who can run the fastest over a 20 metres. As a comparison, some NFL athletes are able to do it within the 4-5 second range. Now thats fast!
Bootcamp Workout Ideas Using The Infamous Burpee Exercise
I think burpees are a fantastic exercise, providing your clients are strong enough to do them. Regressions included. In today’s video training, I'm going to show you how you can incorporate burpees into your group training programme in a fun and effective way.
This is one hell of a challenge, and my clients absolutely love this format. I guarantee it’ll leave you thinking, why didn’t I think of that?
Method: Set your interval timer for 100 rounds of 7-seconds work 0-second rest. The goal is to complete 1 burpee (with the push-up) in every round for 100 rounds. When a player can no longer continue, they jog clockwise around the 2 markers until the challenge is over. Exclude the push-up for your beginners and regress the movement further if needed.
Note: Players that didn’t complete the full challenge, record the round they finished on and repeat the challenge at a later date. See if they can beat their score.
